It was disclosed that State legislator/local realtor Rod Montoya is working to represent a Data center developer company that is looking to buy property in San Juan County.
There is a piece of land FMS owns that he suggested would be highly competitive and he strongly alluded to the fact that he wants the district to sell it off to the data company he is working for. The piece of land is next to Tibbets Middle School.
At this point, there is not an official proposal to buy the land so there is also not an official proposal the Board is currently hearing, so that is important to note.
What we do want to do is make sure we need to make sure the school board hears from us to know that we do NOT want a data center going on that land and we do not want the district selling that land to anything remotely related to data centers either.
